Maubeuge · When contemporary design enhances Parisian heritage

In Paris’s 9th arrondissement, this project by interior architect Xavier Lemoine embodies the harmony between Haussmann architecture and a resolutely elegant contemporary style. Every detail has been designed to reveal the light, restructure the space and bring out the intrinsic nobility of the materials, while respecting the soul of the place.
Originally, the two spaces (living room and dining room) were separated by doors. The architect chose to open up this partition to create a more generous volume, bathed in light and ideal for entertaining. This opening has transformed the way the apartment is perceived: sightlines extend, circulation feels more natural and the whole space flows better.
The architectural approach combines clean lines with respect for the original building. Fine wood, mineral tones and soft textiles form a natural, lasting palette. Joinery, handles and light fittings were carefully chosen to echo the period features: cornices, parquet floors, fireplaces.
With this project, Xavier Lemoine brings to life an interior where aesthetics are not a luxury but a promise of comfort and durability. The design is built to last: it anticipates tomorrow’s needs while showcasing the history of the place. The result: a unique, elegant and warm space.
